I have 1 7/8 Longtubes and true dual 3" exhaust and lost a lot of low end. I'm switching to a single 3.5 exhaust instead. I would run a Y-pipe and run 3" into your current magnaflow.

Also if you get the 1 7/8 headers you will gain top end but lose bottom end. Depends on overall goal and plans later and if you want to buy again or not.

Thanks guys sounds like 3" ORY to si/do is the way to go.

I will be installing the LTs myself in my driveway but since I dont have my stock y pipe would there be a way to alteast rig it to get me to the shop (about 5 mi) so I dont run open headers?

My next dilemna is which LTs to choose...

Amazon has the 1 7/8 for $500 thru a third party available now or wait 1 to 3 months and save about $100 directly thru amazon.

Amazon.com: Buying Choices: Pacesetter 72C2266 Long Tube Header for Chevrolet/GMC

Now i would normally not mind waiting if it meant saving some $$$ but BlackBear is having an event here in phx in early march (5-6) and wanted to get as much done before so it get all get dialed in at the tune.

Or i can go with the 1 3/4 available now and pay what i would have paid for the 1 7/8
Pace Setter 72C2265 Performance Armor Coat Long Tube Exhaust Header : Amazon.com : Automotive

My question is for my setup is it worth the trouble to get the 1 7/8 or just stick with 1 3/4?

Stick with 1 3/4" unless you plan a lot nitrous or boost.

I have the stock manifolds and cats after that i have true dual 3" pipe all the way to 2 flowmaster 10 series then 3" dumped over the axle in the middle. i gained power actually and it sounds amazing. im building a iron 5.7l and im putting in the 1 7/8 headers, no cats with 3" pipe all the way for best flow. with a tune it would make good power with that setup. If you have plenty of air/fuel coming in which i do now and will then, then the mixture will be perfect and flow perfectly for maximum power. that's just what I've been taught and had experience with.

Ive been doing a lot of reading around and its varied results. Everbodys set up is a little different. I ended up getting the 1 7/8 coated pacesetters and its easier right now to just hook them up to my duals. Got a good deal on the bigger lts plus its better long term since theres no low end loss plus id pick up a few up top.

When i got the duals i did feel a slight loss down low but once i got my stall it made a huge difference.

Since my cat back is 2.5 pipes and the collectors are 3 what would be the best to pair them up?

Well LTs are in. Only issue was one bolt was broken on drivers side, I had hit it with pb the night before and it was the first bolt I tried and just pulled out. It was broken flush so not even vise grips would help. Ive cycled and torqued and so far no leaks.

Only thing now is its considerably louder. I went catless and just mated it to my existing dual magnas. What are some ways to quite it down alittle bit?

Also this afm bull **** is even more amplified. I have to drive in 3 just to make it driveable. Can this be turned off thru the a BB tune?
