Ls9 Cam and long tube headers
#1
I know I know “awful choice, terrible cam for heavy truck etc etc” but anyways I put an ls9 cam and long tubes on my wife’s Escalade (6.2) and finished up the tuning on her today. I left the stock exhaust on so it’s just headers into the Y pipe into stock muffler and stock resonator. Sounds pretty good in my opinion but my wife would like it even quieter.
As far as the ls9 cam goes I ran her out to 7k a few times and she really rips up top but in the name of longevity I moved her back down to shift at 6500. Definitely a bit of torque loss down low compared to the stock VVT cam but not enough that my wife noticed any difference.
Anyways, I figured I’d share a little exhaust comparison I made in case anyones looking to do something similar and wants to know how it’s gonna sound. Cheers 🍻
