Default Ls9 cam installation what else should I change?

Planning on the ls9 cam for my 6.0 seems to work great in the 6.2 with a roots supercharger I will hope the same for my 6.0, truck has 120k, I have a extra set of 317s I will be porting and upgrading my question is what else will I need for the swap? Keep in mind the search feature doesn't work on the mobile version. Thank you

The LS9 cam has a 1 bolt cam sprocket and your 6 liter has a 3 bolt sprocket.Assuming it's a gen3 6 liter. Ls9 cam sensor is in the front timing cover. Your stock cam sensor is in the rear of the factory cam , so you'd need a 1 bolt sprocket, a front cover with cam sensor and i believe that's it.

LS9 cam is a 3 bolt cam you just need the right cam gear and a new front cover with the cam sensor in it
Cam sensor extension harness will be nice also!

straight from LPE website ........
The LS9 camshaft is a 3 bolt design. If you are installing it in an earlier LS1 or LS6 engine with the cam sensor at the back of the engine you will need a 2005 LS2 front cover, 2005 1x cam sprocket, camshaft extension harness, 2005 LS2 chain dampner

Thanks for clearing that up, i thought all gen 4's had 1 bolt cam sprockets. You learn something new everyday.

Unless you have one already, just get a gen III 3 bolt cam ground to spec.

If I remember right, $350 gets you a custom comp grind.

you can get the cam and all the other stuff for less than 350. Good advice though

By the time you track down all those parts, get them bought and shipped; I'd have my truck cammed and probably spent $50 more.

Like I said above, you aren't saving that much money after you track down all the necessary parts. On top of that, a cam ground for a ls9 probably isn't the BEST option for a 6.0 with 317s. Just saying.

I agree. The reason that wide cam works fair in the 6.2's is the L92' head design.

A production cam will likely never be the BEST option for any motor. Most pick the ls6 and ls9 due to cost. The parts are relatively easy to track down, Lpe gives all the required part numbers. I wouldn't run it without FI though.
