Default LS7 Rocker Arms

Has anyone used the LS7 1.8 (#12579617) exhaust rocker arm as a replacement for the 1.7 intake and exhaust rocker arms on their 5.3L engine? If so, how do they perform?

Thanks

I have one in a little baggie here that I plan to test fit soon. They probably won't work with my new heads, but I want to at lest see if it bolts up. I think it will. It look identical to a stock rocker.

Let me know Tdrumm I got a feeling the 237/242 wont be enough for me and that would be alot easier than doing a cam swap. Thats the correct PN right? So its a 1.8 for just the exhaust not intake?

Good luck with doing 1.8s on that cam.

That's the p/n for a LS7 exhuast rocker. LS7 intake rockers are offset. You could use 16 LS7 exhuast rockers for both the intake and exhaust of a Gen III engine.

I can't wait to see if it fits....a set of those rockers on a Comp 216/220 seems like it would be a nice budget combo for someone (I've seen that Comp grind in various classifieds fairly cheap from time to time...great cam grind, just needs more lift IMO)

This rocker will be a good choice for using a 1.8 rocker, its like plug and play.

I've talked to a friend last night who is "all wise" about GM part interchanges and he says the LS7 exhaust arms will work. You need to take the normal percautions regarding cam lift at the lobe and coil bind. I'm going to order a set on Monday. Will post my results upon completion. Currently using a VHP 044 cam, manley rods and Z06 springs.
