LS6 oil pump o-ring ?
#4
Yes, i put the pump in. I have good oil pressure. little less than 60 at idle, and 70-80 above 2000 rpm.
The reason I ask because I have a ticking noise that will come and go. After I swapped cams, springs, pump, and timing chain, I had a ticking noise that will come and go. The ticking will get oud and then go away. Usually when at operating temperature.
The tapping is coming from the back 2 cylinders on the drivers side. I heard that if you dont get the oil pump o-ring perfect that the oil can be airated (sp). Basically air bubbles in the oil that will cause the lifter to lose there pressure and create a ticking noise.
Just wanted to mae sure I had the right o-ring. The stock black o-ring is a little smaller and thicker than the blue one that came with the oil pump.
However, I would think that the oil pressure would suffer if there was an o-ring problem.
