Default ls6 intake?

im thinking about a ls6 intake. I read somewhere on here about it not fitting and that i'd have to get a pully relocater bracket. and have to do some milling a tube thing on my water pump? Would i have to do all of that?

Also what TB should i use with that?

And....... i was thinking about having a friend take it to his votec machinery class and having the teacher port the intake.

How much hp/tq gain should i expect from this too.

There's a bunch of info if you try the search function....different plans of attack from using f-body accessories to fabbing the truck accessories to work. Check out some of Kano's old threads, he did alot of research into the subject. You coud try typing in "LS6 Intake", "LS1 Intake", "F-body Intake", "FAST intake", etc...

You should be able to bolt on that LS6 intake without much hassle since you have a cable ttb. The water pump thingy isn't an issue on your truck. About the only thing you'll need to work out will be what injectors to use. Car injectors are the more logical choice because you won't have to drill the injector holes in the manifold. You will however need some adapter harnesses to convert the truck injector plug to the car plug. Your ttb should be fine with the LS6 intake.

Good luck with your mods.

I read the Kano thread. It' kind of made me a confused about intake swap a bit though it did clear some stuff up.

So that small pipe where the coolant flows by the ttb wont be get in the way? and i won't have to relocate my pully?

and where can i get car injectors and the adaptors?

do you plan on adding more extensive mods then what you have right now?
like a bigger cam, gear, converter? if not, then i see no use for you to do the swap unless your going for the looks of it.

the injectors, you can find a good deal over on ls1tech. they usually have some for sale in the classifieds. that's if you change your fuel rail to a car style. i see you have a 99 so you'll have to get ahold of 97/98 vette fuel rails. the adapters, you can get them from summit (msd-2400).

I'd spend the money on something else, you've got a ways to go before you start maxing out the truck intake.
