LS6 heads onto 5.3L
#1
as i posted in another post i got a free LS6, debating on if its worth the effort to put it in my truck or just use the heads. how much extra horsepower will just bolting on the heads onto the stock motor get me? also what is a good cam to use with the heads? will the LS6 cam work? this is probably the route i will go until i get the money to get the whole motor in. thanks.

I've got LS-6 heads on my 5.3L Radicx supercharged suburban no problems works well. but in non s/c applications you'll lose about 3/10's of a point compression. 9.5:1 to 9.2:1.

dude, if you have an entire LS6 motor setting there then but it in your truck. it would be more than worth it to have the extra cubic inches. you'd gain close to 70 rwhp probably over a 5.3 with a stock LS6, and since it's not in the truck yet throw a cam in it for good measure for another 20-30HP
