The only hit I found back when I was researching for my LQ9/Z06 cam combo was a 6L with Z06 cam and heads made 417 HP... but I can't remember if it was GM Hi-Tech that did it, or Chevy High Performance... if I come across it again, I'll hit ya with a link.

will handzel did it is his book for HIPO chevy engines with ls6 heads and cam at 9.915 compression it made 398trq @4600 and 389hp @ 5800

this was through shorty headers and stock exhaust with stock intake box. With supporting mods like lt's good exhuast, intake and complete tune I would expect to make around 450 crank power with ls6 heads and cam.

I hope so. I have the LS6 cam and full supporting mods waiting... in addition to the new LS7 1.8 rockers.

There are better cams out there...I know the LS6 cam looks good because of the price but you can do ALOT better with a little research. Check out www.vincihighperformance.com for a GREAT selection of truck cams from one of the best in the business !!

I know there are better performance cams out there, but with the LS6 cam and it's wide lobe separation, I will be able to pull better MPG than most aftermarket cams in this lift/duration range and still have some extra kick.

I've been able to purchase a used LS6 cam/springs/pushrods ($125 shipped), new LS7 rockers ($154.36 shipped), new 5.3 heads ($355 shipped), and new 2.08/1.60 stainless valves ($70 shipped). I'm hoping for around 475HP for under a grand.

An LS6 cam with 1.8 rockers is gonna net .583 lift.....that's cutting it pretty close to reccomended for those springs, I'd at least spend the money on Comp 918's if for no other reason than peace of mind in knowing you've got a good set of springs controlling your valve-train

There are several GTO's and LS1 F-bods running in the .595 area on stock Z06 springs without issue for 10,000+ miles. I should be OK for short term. If something does fail, hello stroker motor!

Someone here locally had that set for a short while and hit a 13.4@101. This was with an LQ4 on a scsb with NO bolt and 3.42 gears. This was in very cold weather btw.
