it was my 4.8 that richard is talking about, I have about 20 dyno pulls with that cam. I took it out because it was a filthy ***** below 3500 rpms. It made tons of power after about 4500 rpms, richard will tell you it pulled like a bear. I dynoed @ 289 rwhp with that cam with headers, stock exhaust, ls1 edit & an cold air kit. It would be an awsome nitrous cam, smooth idle, but it is design for a lightweight 6 speed, not a heavy truck. I did it the first time because it was dirt cheap here at the dealership. I defenitly reccomend degreeing it & using a stall.

You had the 02+ cam in there. The 01 ls6 cam(204/211 .525/.525 116) would have pulled better down low.

you still have an enormous amount of lsa, you are only losing 1.5 degrees. I have now the 212/218 114 lsa .529/.532. In wathching the air flow across the maf between the two I had more airflow after 5000 rpms with the ls6 vs. this one, however the 212/218 makes quite a bit more on the bottom end.

Don't get me wrong it made a good hp, but the first time you line up against a stock 5.3 & he jumps out on you don't get your feelings hurt.

I agree, if going with an LS6 cam in the 4.8 use the 01 model.
I used the 01 on the stroker motor to help with the top end ( the stroke increase will help low torque ) and also cuz of the emission sniffers. The GM parts will pass emissions while some of the aftermarket ones with smaller LSA make me nervous.

At least a 3000 stall does these 4.8s a ton of good!
