It's a gen IV cam like you said. It has a different cam position sensor(or one of those sensors I forget). Speartech(again not positive) makes a harness to relocate it. It's about $50 last time I checked.

Basically you can do it, but it severely reduces the cost effectiveness of the swap.

Ok, so they (LS1 tech sponsor, I forget who) said it wouldn't work they were talking about "out of the box" so to speak. I gotcha.

Exactly, it won't work out of the box, but it can be made to work.

lets stick to one discussion here...and thats putting a cam into a GMT900. both the ls6 and ls7 cam will need the 3 bolt cam sprocket that came on the LS7.

First start up sounded a little rough, but it drove fine, didnt die really at all. But also this was on a stock "make my 4.8 run" tune after the v6-v8 swap. Also really it didn't seem like ALOT of tuning was needed after the swap.

Not really necessary like i have said several times, i see alot of high rpms cuz i drive like an ******* (right kyle) , and no problem so far

Agreed about shitty low end. Up top is nice. Actually today i had a buddy drive it so i could hear it from outside, IMO i can really tell when the cam kicks in.

no one mentioned that that truck has active fuel management that will probably have to be turned off after a cam swap.
