Default LS2 throttle body harness adapters

I keep finding harness adapters to put an ls2 throttle body on an ls1 style engine. They usually only cost around $60. Could one of these be used for a NNBS intake swap instead of an X-Link? What am I missing?

My 2002 Tahoe has the 78mm DBW TB with dual plugs. I bought an LS1-LS2 adapter to be able to run a 90mm LS2 TB. The adapter didn't work for me. I don't have a TAC module so the X-Link does not apply on my case. I am still trying to run down wiring schematics to see if I can re-pin the adapter to make it work. I also have TPiS working this as I want to run a 102mm TB.
I think it's kind of a crap shoot.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the info. Saved me $60.

The pinout on your Tahoe is the same as for the LS1 cars using the same TB. The adapter harness should work if wired correctly. A LS3 TB or 102mm with LS3 internals will probably not work. An LS2 or TPIS 102mm with LS2 internals should work. A first generation Nick Williams 102 would be a direct swap as it uses the same throttle motor and sensors as your stock TB.

Does your adapter harness match your stock wire colours to the LS2 6 pin connector as per this chart?

My 2002 DBW Tahoe (Z VIN) harness looks like this:
A Yellow (the schematic says Grey?)
B Black
C Green
D Green w/ black stripe (maybe this is Light Blue/Black)
E Black w/white stripe
F Brown (maybe this is purple)

Then on the two wire connection it is:
A Brown
B Yellow

The adapter harness I will have to look at again but, I'm pretty sure the wires did not match at all. I don't guess that would matter as long as the pin outs match up. I will give this a shot in 2 weeks when I get back to the truck.

Also, you say that Lt Blu isnt used but Lt Blu is my 1688 (5V reference) circuit and I don't have a Grey wire at all. So Im still a little confused.

I can't use an X-link. I dont have a TAC module. This is a 2002 DBW not a 2003+. The OP could probably run a torque rush TAC set up.

My 2001 C3 has the same DBW setup as your 2002 Tahoe (your Tahoe is probably optioned with traction control). You do have a TAC module, it just is different than the 03+ one.

I am running a 87mm NNBS throttle body on a TBSS intake on mine. I didn't use an adapter, I just wired the new plug directly in place of the 2 it did have. I am not using a x-link, I just retuned the PCM and it works great.

IIRC the old 2 plug set up had 2 wires for 5 v reference and 2 for low reference while the new one only has 1 of each, so you end up with 2 extra wires that won't be in the new plug. Everything else matched up perfectly.

Where would I find the TAC module on my truck?
I do have traction control, thats the reason for the DBW just like yours.

On the TBSS 87mm NNBS throttle body you're using, what colors are the wires you used and what pin position did you wire them to? (ie.."A" was yellow, "B" was Green) Pics would be great

What did you change in the tune?

If I can figure out the wiring then I can have TPiS build me a 90 or 102mm TB.

I'm starting to think that sending TPiS my TB and having them move the motor and TPS to a ported TB might be the easiest answer.
