Default LS2 fuel injectors

It looks like the new C6 vette and other LS2 vehicles will be making a move to the Delphi Multec fuel injector like the trucks use. Thats very good news for those looking for an alternative injector. I'm sure take off C6 injectors can be had for much less than the current 8.1 marine injectors.

Here is a pic of the C6 oil pan and a few injectors off to the side.

Compare those injectors to these: (truck on the right, current LS1 on the left)

Now if only the C6 90mm throttle body will be electrically compatible with the drive by wire trucks...

I'm thinking the big HP guys will just switch back to the bosch current style injector which will make it pretty easy finding these used. We just don't know what size they are. But if the 05 GTO puts down 350 to the wheels, I bet the injectors are at least 30 pounders. Might be the 30 pouind 8.1 injector or even the 42 pound marine version.

Might also give some aftermarket companies the incentive to create a true "multec to bosch" adapter harness for simple swaps. That would definitely benefit us truck guys.

The LS2 has a few differences from what we know now. Its possible that it will be a direct replacement, but not very likely. The LS2 block is already configured for GMs new displacement on demand system that will come out in the next few years. The block needed some refinements to allow that to happen so its not identical to the current 6L block. The knock sensors and cam position sensor are reported to have been relocated.
