Default LS2 Cam into a 5.3?

Is a stock LS2 cam useable in a 5.3 liter truck motor? And if so will it make any power difference at all? May be a dumb question lol

The difference will be minimal maybe 20hp all of which will be gained above 4000rpm. Not worth the hassle. It's almost the same as a LS6 cam.

20hp for $100 sounds like an amazing deal to me lol. i've spent a lot more for less power.

Basically that's the same as the early z06 cam
Cheap and easy way to gain 30hp with no loss of lowend.

Good for a budget cam swap !

Would there be any other necessary changes to be made or is that a cam i can just throw right in there with stock springs, rockers, etc?

Come on you have done enough cam swaps to know the gaskets, bolts, guilds etc will cost a lot more than that to get it done.

You will need yellow springs at minimum. Hardened pushrods are a good idea while you're in there since the stock ones aren't so strong when spinning that motor up. It can snowball from there.

if you have a gen 3 engine, you will need timing gear, timing cover, cam sensor, and lengthen the cam sensor harness from rear to front
