Default LS1 swap questions

I just found out that I can get my hands on a 00 LS1 vette engine for about $500. This sounds like a steal and would like to build this engine for the truck. I was thinking of building this engine up in the garage then just swapping engines out while I work on a 5.3 stroker.
I have a 1000 questions, but mainly, what all has to be changed in order to drop in the LS1. What computer issues would be involved.
I might just buy the engine for the hell of it anyway. $500 for a 00 vette engine is very tempting.
Thanks for any help.

Great deal if it isn't trashed.

I have not seen the engine yet, but the guy claims its good. Did an engine swap and now just wants to unload it for cheap. I plan on tearing it down and rebuilding it with new pistons and so on, so it shouldn't be an issue.

ls1's pretty much just bolt in to the trucks with very little modification. obviously you would want to use your truck intake manifold for the torque. other than that i dont really thing there is anything major that needs to be changed

Should be a direct replacement. Unless you go nuts with a cam, I don't see the need for any major computer tuning. About the only thing I can think of right now, is that your alt bracket will be missing a bolt, because it doesn't line up to the LS1 just right. The ones I have heard swaping, say it's not really needed anyway.

I will be keeping the 5.3 intake for sure, and the engine should bolt right in without any major problems, but there has to be computer issues I'm sure. Is that the only thing that would need work in order to get the LS1 working properly? If it is, Can LS1 Edit make the corrections.
Thanks for any input.
