I have a 98' with the same questions, no answer, I guess its not a popular swap. I don't know why, I think it would kick ***!

I made my own mounts and that was the hardest part of the project. That and cutting out a huge hunk of frame and crossmember to clear the A/C compressor. Not a bad swap all in all and the end result is definitely worth it !! Have you been over to ls1truck.com?

Come check out our Hybrids & Conversions sections. There are a few LS1 pickups running around LS1Tech.

I'm about to make the same leap (a ls1 into a '95 C1500).
Is there anywhere I can get a overall look at some of the major steps and obstacles involved? You mentioned ls1truck.com
Thanks.
