Default ls1 swap guys come in....please.

I wanted to see what you LS1 swap guys setups were, or are. How big of a cam did you run, stall, head and compression ratio, and intake mani? setup track times, and how much you like your setup vs bigger and smaller setups if you care to share? I am rebuilding a LS1, running 799 heads milled .030" for a 11:1 SCR. I am trying to see where I want to start when self spec'ing a cam.
Thanks

If 799 heads are the same as 243's then you should reach 11.1:1 compression with milling them .015 instead of .030. Stew got 11.1:1 compression using a .040 gasket which is pretty much the same as milling the heads .015 if i recall correct me if im wrong lol.

Ill let you know how mine runs when i get it in. I should be getting then engine back next week then all i need is for this cam to get here then ill put everything in.

The cam in my sig was spec'ed for me by Pat G for the setup in my sig.

I was shooting for 61cc head with stock head gaskets~ .054" compressed. the 799's are same as 243's. that 230/234 cam will be sweet!!

I am thinking 234/238 111+4 EPS cam. 8.5~ DCR. I guess I will just have to go for it and spec my own cam.

61cc head should do it. According to the cam sheet my DCR will be 8.38:1. And my bad my static comp. is gonna be 11.0:1. Are you going to use your WCCH heads on your LS1?

ha ha..no sir, these are milled .050" and are at a 55cc chamber. PTV would be bad on these. I got a free set of 799 heads. good to be in the business sometimes.

I am tossing around the idea of getting a custom ground Isky cam....gonna see what the guys on tech say.

Here are the results of my swap so far...I do have the older 853's with the larger chamber which kinda sucks..
I plan on putting a set of stock 243's and 90mm manifold on this spring/summer
Havent been to the track yet..

not bad! baby cam and all. it has more in it! I am planning on large cam, big heads, and maybe forged bottom end if I can swing it. but as of right now its a ls1 block with ls6 pistons, rods, heads and valves. Custom cam, and valve springs(no comp,TSP,or patriot for me).
