Since they redesigned the water pump on the new trucks I thought I would see how the new pump would work out with the LS1/LS6 manifold swap as another choice in setting these things up as easily as possible. I've been seeing these water pumps on the 06-07 trucks.

Here's the manifold installed with the new water pump and the relocation bracket:

First I tried it with the cable throttle body. Perfect fit with plenty of clearance!

Then I substituted the ETC throttle body. Won't fit. It still hits on the water outlet.

It looks like it would work if you used one of those aftermarket throttle body spacers, and pick up an extra 10 HP or whatever they claim

Just thought I'd share the pics.

John

this is great news....now I won't have to deal will all the hassle on the accessory system. Just get a new style water pump. Do you have a part number for that redesigned pump?

The new truck water pump is 12600767. It was $145.16 at the Chevy dealer.

sweet!!!

So now all that is needed is the new style water pum for cable guys and the speartech bracket? No pressing on/off pulleys or fabricating brackets right?
