I read somewhere that one reason ppl swap over to the LS6 intake over the truck intake is the truck intake drops off peak hp at 5800 rpm or something like that. So switching to the LS6 intake keeps you building power past 6k rpms. Of course that would have to depend on your cam as well. I have a LS6 cam in my LQ9 and after 6k rpm it seems to stop pulling as hard. Is that due to the truck intake?

The truck intake has longer runners that help produce torque, so yeah swapping to an ls6 intake or aftermarket will help produce more power in the upper rpm range.

Worth it or not.........I've said it before and I'll say it again. If I swaped out my LS6 intake and put the truck intake back on, I would not run the times I'm running now. It's up to you on how fast you want to go.......some say 2tenths @ best(not worth the swap), every little bit helps. To me 2tenths is alot...ex. 12.60 to an 12.40...food for thought.

i totally agree..... i personally would not do it.... i have seen 6.0, that swap over to a fast 90 and loose e/t!!!! unless you have a stroked motor 402+, other than that i think its worthless...

I have all the factory truck accesories and the factory truck intake....as you can see, it makes power all the way through!

In my opinion, I like the truck intake better than the LS6! I am installing the truck intake on an LS1 and six speed in an 87 monte carlo right now.....hoping that works real well.
