Stick with the truck intake it out flows a ls1 plus there is a few things you have to change to make the ls1 work.

Definetely stay with the truck intake. I did the swap to an ls6 intake on my 6.0. The engine is going in to a 1955 Chevy and I wanted the "car" look. Water pump issues, you have to relocate the idler pulley and you have to cut the alternator bracket to clear the TPS. You will also probably have to get different fuel rails, the car fuel rails do not have a return line and the car fuel rail interferes with the #7 coil pack.

george - The '97 vette fuel rail does have a return line and uses the same regulator(manifold referenced) that the trucks use.

The coil pack problem I've never heard of before. I was going to check it out when you mentioned it the other day but, never got a chance. I'll try soon.

Its O.K. I decided to go with a set of FAST fuel rails. I am working with Speartech to see if we can get a car water pump to fit properly. This will eliminate some of the issues and if we can work it out, if a pump should go bad, its just a stock LS1 pump that would need to be replaced, no mods.

george - PM BigTex. He has the stock car water pump issue worked out.

You need some spacers for the pump and a slightly different idler wheel location then the speartech harness.

BigTex gave me the info and Speartech is working on the spacers. I found out that the Fbody LS1 idler pulley is 3" and the truck is 3.5" This smaller diameter just clears the LS1 water pump outlet hose. Waiting on the spacers to see what else I run in to.

Sounds like you have it under control.

When I get it working, I will update my thread with some new pics and details. Still a long way from installing this engine in the car, but after this I think the next big hurdle will be exhaust manifolds or headers and the oil pan clearance. Both will have to wait until the frame is ready for the engine and tranny.
