I haven't swapped, probably because mine is the best thing since fresh produce. JK I'll defend my motor to an extent, but if a chance to swap came along, I wouldn't think twice about it! That's for sure.

I'm glad to see everything worked out for you Tiger, and take it easy on that thing. Another moment of silence for the fallen 4.8............

Yeah I still have he 20's on and its ridiculous. Im putting the 16" Indy 500 Firehawks on tomorrow - That should help get a little more to the ground but Ive been told by two friends and all the guys who did the install Im not feeling it all because of the tire spin! Woo Hoo more to look forward too! Man I loved my little 4.8 and I got 26k flawless miles on it and was able to get 400rwhp out of it. I new it was goin to be an obvious difference but I didnt realize how much better the driveablilty was. I garuntee that if I drove regular I would get better gas mileage out of the 5.7 than I did the 4.8 because IM not having to stomp on it to get going! You guys are going to laugh when you see that piston! Pics to be up soon of everything!

Even w/ the TR224, I get better gas mileage w/ the LS1 than I ever did w/ the 212/218 in the 4.8.

Man thats awesome. What are you doing as far as tuning? Ive heard from others that the 212/218 is alright in the 5.7. It doesnt make as much power as some of the larger ones, but it has great power down low and it makes good power through out.
I wish I could afford for my motor and tranny to go, but with wedding and new house crap as well as some things my girl wants, I just wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing I went through THAT much money that fast. I have to always have alot of cash available just in case. She has agreed that since Im having to wait on so much that I get a little more. I may go for a 402 instead of the 6.0 or I may go for a T trim and a 6.0.

It already has the updated tune in and it is running great. The guy that did the swap and all my other stuff(B&M Racing) is personal friends with Ed Wright and Ed had done this exact tune a couple of times and a bunch real similar. The tune is nice. Ed comes down to Hallsville Raceway which is 30 min from me so next time he is down there I will go over and let him give it a once over or next time he is in Shreveport he would do the same but as of now I dont see need for it! I still cant believe how different this truck feels and thats with the 20's and open diff! Good luck on the Wedding man! Thats one of the next things on my lifes list that i know of!

A man after my own heart. You, my friend, have your priorities straight. Get a new motor and get your setup as you want it BEFORE you dump a ton of money into a party for everyone else. Just my small share is going to be near 8K. Thats a 408 and built tranny!
Women just cant be reasoned with
I cant wait to hear how that thing runs! Get that scanner hooked up when you spray just to be safe, but get us some numbers!

I am one of those former 4.8 guys .
I cant believe that I waited so long to do my LS1 swap. And I think both Scream and I know what you mean about the lack of traction with an open diff. My 20"s go up in smoke when it down shifts into first, and then keeps going half way through 2nd. I think it also has something to do with me running a TT3k stall with a one wheel peel.
What are you gonna do as far as tuning? I dont know alot about that particular cam, but with my TR224, it pulls hard all the way up to 6400 rpms.

You mean hyper?
My 4.8 with the 125 shot is fine for now. I drove Blownchevy's black rcsb Radix-ed 6.0 and I loved it. I can't wait to do a swap, maybe I'll blow my 4.8 on purpose just to have a reason to do the swap
