Default ls1 fans on 6.0 truck ????

It seems from my search that the concensus is to go with the larger, aftermarket fans for the 6.0 trucks. But most with the 5.3s go with regular, readily available and cheap ls1 fans. Has anyone used the LS1 fans in a 6.0 truck with success? It sure seesm they would work fine to me. I have a 385 ci 6.0 block in my SS with 11.5 to 1 compression and regular LS1 fans and it never runs above 190 in stop and go traffic.

Any other reason I may be missing NOT to use the LS1 fans? This is on an 01 Sierra C3 extended cab shortbed btw.

with yours having the 6.0L factory it may have the 34" radiator which would also give you the option of running 05' 1500 fans.

I'm pretty sure his 99 is a Camaro. I have the LS1 fans on my small radiator with a 6.0, but it hasn't gotten over 80 degrees outside yet so I can't comment on if they're good enough.

You can use LS1/LT1 fans and it will be just fine. If you want a stock look, get the 05's, but F-body fans will provide all the cooling you need. Hell, I know my truck is not as big (weight wise) and I have a 4.8, but I do have the 6.0 radiator. I never see over 200* running only one fan with the A/C on in 95+ degree weather. I will kick the other one on if I'm in bigtime stop and go traffic when it gets over 100* down here , but have never HAD to. I'm going to convert the wiring where it will run automaticly when the PCM asks for it now that I can program that in.
