I mainly got the LS1 Fans to clean up under the hood. They take up so much less room.

Got mine off E-Bay for 80 bucks. Just type in ls1 electric fans.

Your 1/2 ton Z71 has the smaller 28" radiator like mine did, I got my 3/4 ton 34" rad for $70. Just keep an eye open for them.
If you're looking for some power, skip the fans now and check to see if you have the Flase KR that most 99s and some 00s do. Then once you check that out, I'd get you a custom tune of some sort. It'll be a bigger difference than any mod next to a blower can make. These trucks are severly detuned from the factory.
I like my fans and they help with off idle power and better throttle response.

What is this about the KR?
I have heard so much about it with the the 99-00 years, in which I have a '99.
What can I do about this? Is it the sensor, or the pcm itself?
What is the fix for the false kr?
I wander if Allen tuned KR out when he tuned my truck?

What can I do about this? Do I replace the sensor, and if so, what is the part number, or other info. I need on this? I don't even know where its located...lol.

KR = Knock Retard. It's stupid, I think GM used overly sens sensors in the early years. My '99 Z71 LT (older model of what i have now) had that problem too. It was a turd from a dead stop and just was slower than the one I have now.
I'm VERY confident the power ratings between the two trucks came from the tune, NOT the cam. The LSA's changed between 99 and 00. I'd shoot Allen a PM to see, he's got base tables for pretty much all truck and could tell ya.
To be rid of the Flase KR, you're gonna have to be certain you have it. I believe it's 8* you get. Run your gas pretty much out, then get some 104 unleaded in there or make your own with Toulene/Xylene. Like 3-4 gal of 91+ with 1 gal of that Toulene for some race fuel. If you have KR on a stock tune with 104* oct fuel, you've got False KR.
On the fix, I dont' know if new sensors will fix it or not. I recall 99silver5.3 did this, I brought this to his attention and Jared got rid of the false knock and said it ran a lot better just with that. Then he flashed in an '01 spark table (still stock table, no timing added) and it's better still...he also has NO TqMgt like me.
You're going to have to wire/solder in some resistors. Pretty easy.
I'll IM him this link and see if he can post up on what to do.
