I got EDIT so I can make my own changes if needed. The shops here in FL aren't able to tune truck PCMs, so I bought EDIT and plan on taking it to Norris Mtspts to get it tuned ON A DYNO.

I would hate to have to send my PCM back everytime that I needed to make small adjustments (shift points, tire size changes, etc.)

I will say that you will need to be extra careful w/ EDIT, as you can really mess some stuff up.

Carputing.com is the place to get it. Price tag is $550 bucks. Find a couple of people that have 99+ GM trucks and have them split it with you. You can do a max of 4 PCM's on one cable.

if you aren't very good with mechanics or computers, hooking up a computer something mechanical is probably not a good idea. however, i e-mailed allen regarding tuning my truck via e-mail, and he said he has no problem doing that. which eliminates having to trade pcms. if your race your daily driver ocassionally i suppose you could have him do a more aggressive tune and put it in yourself, to race , and a more mild tune for daily driving. even if you're good with computers and motors, the tables, values, and relationship to each other and in some cases even what function they have can be cryptic at best and edit does'nt come with anything even resembling an instruction [practical application] manual. i've had it for 6 mo and still don't have it figured out. if i would have paid more attention, i would have had allen tune it for me rather than buy edit. and even though i have it i'll probably still have him do it.
