LS1/6 Swap into 5.3L ECSB...

and about the weight savings, almost all of us over here are 4500 lbs.+ who gives a **** about 65lbs.

Lemme toss a small wrench into the discussion. Speaking from a displacement perspective, there's enough meat on the 5.3 to punch it out to the much revered 5.7(346 ci). So upon a rebuild everything's there to work with. Infact that's my plan- when the time comes to drill it out .060", yes I know it won't be the 5.7 sought after but there will be enough meat for another rebuild after that............

Even more reason to keep weight down, and the aluminum block offers better heat dissipation and the cool factor
I plan on doing a forged alum block LS1 to keep the mp112 in it's efficiency range.

Guess I spoke without thinkin'. I was under the impression that the standard overboars were .030, .040 and .060. Like I said in another forum that I was still in the L98 era, circa 1990. I still marvel at these LSx units........

the smallest off-shelf bore available is the stock ls1 bore afaik, the 4.8/5.3 bore just doesnt have the aftermarket support of the larger engines
