Default ls motor question

ok, so i know the 4.8, 5.3, and the 6.0l are on the lsx series of motors, but which category do these motors fall under . i know the 6.0 is a ls2, but what is the 4.8 and 5.3?

The three digit code is the RPO (Regular production option). Listed in the glove box.

Gen III
4.8 - LR4
5.3 - LM4, LM7, L33, L59
6.0 - LQ4, LQ9

Gen IV 2007-present
LY2- 4.8 t
LMG- 5.3
LH6- 5.3
LC9- 5.3
LY5- 5.3
LH8- 5.3
LY6 - 6.0
L92-6.2

i believe the 4.8 is known as the "LR4" and the 5.3 iron block "LM7" 5.3 aluminum block is "LM4"

A LQ4, LQ9, LY6, LFA, LS2 are all 6.0's. Might ben even more. First two are Gen III design, and the latter 3 are Gen IV

Same variations go for the other displacements... 4.8, 5.3, 6.2....
