Question ls-1 vette engine

ok,98 to 2000 ls-i vette engine into a 04 rc 2wd that now has 5.3 4l60e is it worth it. will i work and how many problems will have. anyone done this befor.

If you are using everything from the LS1, including accessories - I don't think there will be a problem other than there might be some accessory interference (someone else could chime in here with more knowledge about that). I think you might have to swap out the exhaust manifolds and the oil pan.

Definitely a PCM update.

demon on Fullsizechevy did it to a 00 model resb 2x4 I do believe.

The 4.8/5.3's are based off of the LS1 engine. The only problems with install would be of course the PCM will need some reprogramming and also something in the transmission on the truck won't hookup directly to just any LS1. I forgot if it was the flywheel or not...

I'd say it's worth it if you can do it cheap, they are badass engines, but you can get stock LS1 power out of a 5.3 for headers and a tune.
