Thank you.

Quik,

I wont argue that price really will be the deciding factor. I got my LQ4 a hell of alot cheaper than I found any LQ9 for.

Thunder,

A huge LS1 cam with shitty valve events in a low CR LQ4 is ghey sure. But a cam with good VE's in a stock compression LQ4 will make a big difference!! You leave alot on the table if you get a 5.7 LS1 oriented cam and slap it in a 6.0 because you are effectively changing the DCR. Gotta keep the valve events in mind is all I was getting at.

I agree with you 100%. I learned a valuable DCR lesson with my 408....after I already bought and paid for all of it and had it assembled. Just sharing my .02

I think we've overlooked the question here.......He's asking if its worth the extra money for him. When you look at his goals(low 12s/high 11s on gas in a rcsb), I would easily say that it is not worth the extra money. That is money that can be spent other places, money that would also have to be spent after the LQ9 purchase as well(cam, springs, slicks, converter, etc)

Thats the reason I didnt go for an LQ9 in the first place. Because I know good and well that 12's-11's is posible with the LQ4. Slow, your truck is a good example.

Thanks! That's what i was wanting to know. I was thinking an LQ4 would suit my needs, and be as fast as i want it to be, but i wanted to ask some people who have been down this road just to make sure

Don't forget that the LQ9 has aluminum heads (with higher CR). The LQ4 has cast iron heads.
