Question Lq9 with tsp 2.5 61.15cc 862's

ive searched and read a couple different threads and read that this combo is any where from 10.9:1 - 12.50:1. All the threads were a few years old. Any new info on this setup? Thanks also with a tsp 220 .581 112 camshaft.

(found another set of tsp heads cheap!)

10.9:1 is with a 64 CC head and the factory gasket.... as you have an iron LS2 at that point. 61 cc would make it around 11.4 or 11.5:1 based on the head gasket thickness.

Anybody? From what I've searched it should be ok.

Specs on everything. Lq9, (coated flat top pistons) tsp 2.5 862 5.3 heads 61.15cc, and the following mods in sig. Cam is a tsp 220 .581 112. Based on a .051 mls gasket. Should a .060 gasket be recommended? Along with pro comp head studs.

What would the dynamic compression be? Should be a torque monster correct and around 400whp from what I've gathered?

Thanks

ive never ran such compression ratio but if already installed, pump on some 93 octane, have it tuned and tuner should be able to tell you if any detonation. i run 11:1 on 93 with no detonation but i also run some cometic head gaskets which are supposed to help prevent it so unsure bout your combo. good luck with your 400rwhp project

It's not installed. A buddy offered me the fresh lq9 short block and another buddy has a set of tsp heads. (I just bought a set a few months ago) and the current cam is in my truck. The 5.3 runs decent now, but I know more is better cubic inch wise. Im just trying to figure out headgasket thickness to make this build even work. I have my 156k long block sold to a buddy if I decide to buy this lq9.

I put those heads on my 370. I was very surprised at how much the combustion chamber could be opened due to the larger bore. I am not sure if you feel confident doing this type of work yourself, but it is pretty easy. It would lower your compression slightly, and I would assume it would increase the flow. I did not test this on a flow bench, but I feel much better about opening them up. Let me see if I can find the thread I started.

I got looking through pics, and never took any after I finished cleaning up the chambers. Ha ha. You can see what the difference would be by the first pic though.

Yeah I did see that awhile back! I'm still up in the air on my math and compression and static #'s. Ive been reading and trying to learn a little more.

Can somebody figure up the static and dynamic numbers on the combo mentioned above? Thanks.
