Default LQ9 Head question

The mods are in my sig. I dont have a cam or complete tune yet and have run a best of 7.8 in the 1/8th. my goal is to run a 7.0 when it starts cooling back down. My question is what is the best set of heads for a LQ9? I see what a lot of guys are doing with the LQ4 but say it would be too much compression with the 9. Im looking at the Comp 228 230 58x lift. What is the max compression you can run on 93 octane? i know 8 tenths is a lot to pick up but i think it can be done with cam heads and tune. I dont really want to go with the l92s so any suggestions on cathedrual port heads will be greatly appreciated. thanks

lq9 has same heads as the lq4. #317. are plenty good as is but better when ported. you are right bout the compression ratio. with proper tune, have seen guys run as much as 11:1. your pretty close already with 10.3:1. on a budget, you could have your heads ported and milled for a couple points compression. will be a major boost when added with the cam. hope this helps. good luck

So it would be worth it to just find a cheap set of 317s on eBay and have them worked? Has anyone had any experiance with the lq9 stage 3 patriot heads?

That wouldn't be to much compression?
