Default lq4 proformance help

I just bought an 02 2500HD 4x4 with a 6.0 and a 5 speed. im wanting some more performance out of it but i dont want to hurt the mpg to badly. right now it is stock. i was thinking about doing a cam swap and getting it tuned but i have no idea how big of a cam to get. id like a nice lopey idle and maybe 60-100 more hp at the wheels, also if there is an easyer way to get the power im looking for, or other cheep things to do along with the cam swap to add more HP. Then i am all ears.

thanks ahead of time.

Send your heads to get ported and all supporting mods for the cam lifters, valve springs, ect. And by getting that much out of a cam you may loose drivability and mpg

Longtube headers, cold air intake, cam, and a tune will net the gains you are looking for in 6.0. We offer a set of stainless long tubes for those trucks, along with the cam packages and tuning. A small 220R or 224R would match well with what a truck needs. One thing to keep in mind is that it is pretty difficult to make more power without suffering some fuel mileage loss. More power requires more fuel.

The only way to really gain power and fuel efficiency at the same time is to free up the exhaust and get a tune. Beyond that there will be a trade off.

Add enough power and it will be so much fun you will care less about mpg.
