I'm no expert either, but maybe it's time to get the turbo rebuilt. Really does sound like your seals or blown & your trying to mask the damage by going with smaller jets. IMO I'd rebuild turbo & get a oil restrictor. Also check outlet lines restriction.

Any idea why the oil pressure's so high? Tight bearing clearances coupled with a high pressure pump?

sounds like the pump spring was shimmed for the added pressure.

When I had the engine built it was for a tvs2300 with rear drive, and oil pressure would not have been a problem. Tight bearings, and high pressure spring, and high volume pump adds up to my situation. If I'm going to take out the pump, I might as well just get a new stock pump, and call it a day, but I will look up this pressure regulator also to see if it is for me. I'm pretty sure the turbo needs new seals also, but I will try it with the lower pressure first, to see if it smokes.

My crank pulley is pinned, has anyone tried to get the pulley back on, and line up the pins at the same time?

I know of at least one guy who got their pinned crank pulley back on straight, one of our members here...can't remember who it was though...

I've done it before. Took me several attempts. Some just drill two new holes.

Since you're turbo now, I'd just reinstall it without the pins.

I think this would do the trick. I found a lot of others, but this is for engine oil, and is much smaller than all the rest that I found. I would just need to find somewhere to run the return line. This would save me the hassle of taking the oil pump out, and it would stay at a constant XXpsi all the time.
