Default lots of exhaust questions

Hey guys I wanna put LTs on my truck and while Im there I wanna do some modifying of my current exhaust...I have a true dual set up and I see now that I should balance the two pipes with either and X or H pipe...well I found this on Jegs for cheap and I think Im gonna use this if you guys think it will help???...if I do get it I was just going to cut the middle section to length and reweld...def. seems the most easiest way to go in my case...what do you think???

http://www.jegs.com/p/Flowmaster/744757/10002/-1/11525

the exhaust is all 2.25 with dual flowmasters...I was gonna get passetter LTs and ORY and put it all on at once...also can I run this without a tune for a week or so tops till I see my friend with HPT???...also I want to run a wideband A/F gauge so do I put the bung in the ORY?...should the H pipe be closest to the engine as possible...I was tossing the idea of electric cut outs too maybe later on but my question is should they be before or after the h pipe???...

I also was going to gut the cats and reinstall them for visual inspection...any do or donts on that???...sorry for all the questions but I hope to do this soon...thanks guys!

after thinking about this I got to thinking again...I totally had a brain fart...I still want to keep my true duals...but obviously if I use a ORY I will then run into a problem...so I guess what I need to do is just get some pre bent pipe and make my own collectors if you will to the rest of the exhaust...

I still want to keep the cat idea for inspection but other than that this may make my install a little easier no???...maybe even a little cheaper...ideas are welcome!

Go with an x-pipe rather than an h. It'll flow better and just be better overall (like sound, packaging, etc) IMHO. I just picked up a new Magnaflow one for like 1/2 off on eBay.

And yeah, the ideal place for the cross over is as close to the collectors as possible. You gotta be reasonable here, especially in our trucks where the exhaust has to be run down the passenger side.

On my old truck ('66 Chevy) we put the e-cutouts before the x. The x helps flow by balancing out the pulses, lowers the dB level, and other things, but when you got the exhaust totally open, its already gonna flow like no other and who cares how loud it is. Thats why you got them in the first place!

And I gotta say. Those cutouts on the '66 are about the most fun thing ever. No cats, cam'd, and open exhaust at the flick of a switch on a classic truck is just farkin awesome.

I would make a custom collector pipe coming from the headers to the true duals. If you are not going to run cats, I am not sure how much better the engine is going to flow with cut outs. If ypu just want the sound of open headers, then go witt the e-cutouts.
