Default Lost Or No Power Gain After FAST LSXRT And NW 102TB! (Pics And Vids Inside!)

Hey guys,

So I finally got the FAST LSXRT and NW 102 TB and a completely new tune working without any problems whatsoever. However, I feel like I didn't gain any power, if not lost some. The car used to pull really really strong before this, sometimes even so strong the trans used to slip. But now, it just feels heavy like something is holding it. I can't wrap my head around this. I have a feeling its all in the tune. I even told my new tuner the older tune I had from somewhere else felt stronger and more responsive even before these mods. He gave me an appointment for a retune in 3 days time. I think he said something about setting the air/fuel ratio at around 12.8 (Not sure). Honestly I don't know if it's a timing issue, and hope there is someone here who can shed some light on this subject. Last but not least, I'm sure the weather also plays a big part in performance, as the last time I did a test run with the 'strong pulls' was in winter after my cam install and tune and now I installed the FAST LSXRT and 102 TB and tune around 2 weeks ago in the summer. You will see in the first video that it's 23 degrees celsius during the day where as the other videos it was around 37 - 38 degrees celsius at NIGHT! Gets up to 47 - 48 sometimes higher in the daytime. Anyways sorry for the long read and looking forward to hearing your replies.

Well seeing that you only have a 5.3 it will likely lose low-mid rpm range power and torque due to the drop in intake velocity. The 102 intake and tb are more suited for bigger cubic inch engines or forced induction engines.

You need to put it on a dyno to see if you really lost or gained power

It's definitely a lot more intake than a mild 5.3 needs. Hopefully you gained some up top.

Lol. Change tuners or go back to original tuner. Timeing and afr with power enrichment.

If all is equally all top should be huge difference. Either that or trucks in limp mode

Did not look at videos yet

As mentioned your new Intake and TB are too big for your 5.3 with a mild cam.

Even a TBSS intake with a 90mm and larger cams in a 5.3L have lost low and mid range power.

Thanks a lot for your input fellaz! I do feel like I lost some torque on the low end, but did seem to gain on the higher end. Also, I'm thinking of changing the cam to a more aggressive one with a dod delete kit.

What do you guys think of this? Texas Speed 228R 228/228 .588/.588 Camshaft

Here's a video of it performing on a 2011 Silverado. WARNING: Video is tooooo good.

I don't see a converter in your mods. The 102 is over kill for your setup.

a TB is only an opening, a motor is only going to take in as much air as it can use. so size of tb isn't the issue here
