Default Loss of performance with stock muffler?

My truck is a 2005 ecsb 2500HD 6.0L and currently i am running Stainless Works LT headers, a Magnaflow X and 3" dual pipe into a Magnaflow # 12469 dual in/out muffler. I use the truck for work and its too damn loud with a load behind it and I cant stand the sound any more.

Would putting a stock muffler(I believe they are dual 3" in, single 3" out?) kill my performance? Or what is the best route I could take? I have also heard of using TBSS mufflers?

Help me out, i need to get something done in the next few days.

put two MagnaFlows 12649 in front of the one you have, one for each bank still straight through, still good and free flowing, but that should cut down the sound, or if its just got turn downs, try having it piped out the back

It is out the back now, looks horrible IMO. Always dumped in the past, had this dumped and it was unbelievable in the cab.

I have a stock muffler off a 6.0 and off my dmax laying around, wish i could just throw one of these in for the time being but i dont want to kill the performance.

I don't think it will "Kill" your performance, probably hardly noticeable sotp. Put it on and later add cutouts for when you need the extra bit. This is just an opinion btw.
