Looks like Chevys with more hp are rolling off the assembly line this fall. Check it out and click on specifications. 285 hp for the 4.8 and 295hp for the 5.3.

if you look at the 2004 lineup, it says that the 04' SS will have a supercharged 6.0L HO and a 4L85E trans

 

It does? Where are you looking that I'm not?
All I see is the same ext cab LQ9 6.0 putting out 345HP.
I just clicked on the truck pic off the link, then clicked Silverado and got that.

 

 

Look under "Model Lineup" and notice the *** at the bottom of engine options.

I wonder what's in these engines.. ? different cam like they did in 99 to 00, better flowing exhoust or just better tuning.

probably all of the above Shark...maybe even 2" intake valves and some better intake manifold flow or something to that effect/affect?

 

the heads on the LQ9 6.0 are identical to LS6 heads except for they have larger combustion chambers and it has different pistons than the LQ4 which give it higher compression and eliminate the bottom end knock we all have. thats where the extra power comes from. oh, and BigKID was right about where it says the 04 SS is supercharged. btw, BigKID how do you like your exhaust now w/o cats and the yank 3000? been meaning to ask you for awhile.

 

Is that a 345hp s/c engine or 345hp plus s/c??It reads to me like its only 345hp with the charger
