Just find a used 5.3, 6.0 or ls1 crank and swap that in your motor. Then you'll have a 5.3 with a little higher compression then normal because of the flat-top pistons.

^^^ Would be your cheapest route IMO.

You can't put 4.8 pistons on a 5.3 crank or the pistons will contact the heads and stick out of the top of the block!!! If you want the longer stroke, you need the matching pistons and rods of the LS1 or 5.3.

The REAL option should be a stock LS1 entire rotating assembly and bore the 4.8 block out to 99mm for 5.7L/348 cu in, or go stroker assemble and bore the block for bigger cubes.
