Default Looking To Cam+Stall 5.3 Tahoe, Need Suggestions

Looking to get some more power out of my 5.3 and have been thinking of a cam swap and replacing the stall converter. Current mods are in sig.

Anyone know what size cam I should get? I have been looking at a 224/228 cam from texas speed and around a 3000-3200 stall but not sure what would be the best option. Trying to get as much power as I can for a daily driver.

Was also looking at some converters on performabuilt.com but everyone at ls1 truck told me to go for Circle D. Only really looking at performabuilt because I wanted to buy their level 2 4L60E and they extend the warranty an extra year if you buy their torque converter as well.

Anyways, everyone at ls1 truck is telling me to go bigger, and people at tahoeyukonforum.com are saying to go smaller, so I'd figure I would let people at performance trucks break the tie.

bigger than a 224/228 cam? this isnt a car man.. ur tahoe is too heavy even for that cam on such a small converter... i would recommend something in the 218/222 range cam nothing more then 220 duration and thats pushing it on a 3200 converter.. u need torque to move the tahoe and a big cam wont get u that.. might show hp on the dyno but doesnt mean ur gonna be faster on the street.. IMO ur cam is too big or ur converter too small.. u want performance ur gonna loose drivability u want drivability ur gonna loose performance all around woud b a 3200 on a cam with duration nothing over 220..

212/218 or 220/220 and circle D 3200 converter should do good. The cam you mentioned is pretty big and would need a big verter.

Id say
Tr220 (112) cam
Circle-D 3200 converter
4.30 gears
These 3 items will put a big smile on your face

I was only looking at that big of a cam because I was somewhat copying this setup: Cammed Tahoe - YouTube

He's using a 224/230 Cam with a 3000 stall and it seemed to run good, he is supercharged now aswell though.

But anyways, the smallest cam that texas speed sells is a 220/220 without going custom cut. That with a 3200 circle d would be good? And should I go with a single disk converter or spend the extra money for the triple disk?

Gonna probably order the stall tomorrow. Think I am gonna go with a 3400 Circle D 258mm single disk. Anyone know of a good transmission cooler I should get and that would bolt right to in? I have the tow package but it did not come with a stock transmission cooler.

True cool 40k trans cooler.

I was considering a 224/230 cam for my set up.
