Talking Look what I picked up today (6.0L)

I didn't want to put the money out right now, but I got a hell of a deal. The 6.0L came out of a 2003 GMC savana (van) 3500. The motor has less than 2000KM on it, it still has the factory oil filter. I bought it at a salvage yard just around the corner from where I work, $2200CDN the yard guy told me they just started lowering there prices to move more volume. A month ago they wanted $3200 for 2001 6.0ls with 80-100k on them.

Now what do you guys think of my low lift 212/218 cam in this motor, a little small?

GM fixed the piston slap for 2003 right.

Congrats on your new purchase. I just bought the 212/218 high lift 558/563 for my new 6.0L, it seemed to be the cam of choice around here when trying to maintain drivability and reliability.

This motor has lines coming off the filter boss for a oil cooler, would there be any reason to run a oil cooler on my truck.
