Startin to think about makin my exhaust really work soon...got the Gibson shorties because that's all that there was at the time, but now I'm thinkin long tubes are the only way to go. I have a bit of time to save up the scratch, so I want to put my plan together so that when the time comes I can be prepared and get exactly what I want....which is:
A good set of long tubes with a Y-pipe and cats to keep it all legal...something I can bolt-in myself without any welding. The Dynatech SuperMaxx system seems to be exactly what I'm lookin for...I'm just gonna have to work real hard and try to sell some stuff to work up the $1300 price tag. Are there any other good direct replacement systems like this one for a little less jack?
Also, I see that there's really no love for Gibson products on this website...is they're stuff supposed to be crap? I've had my shorties and cat-back on for almost 4 years now and it' been real solid. It works, sounds decent and looks good...although I have been considering a Magnaflow split rear cat-back...
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As far as keeping the cats, the Dynatech is your best bet. If you arent dead set on keeping the cats you could go with the Pacesetters and their Y pipe.
Why are you going with the new exhaust system at this point? Is it just something you want to do? For $1300 I would be looking at a 6.0

I'd definitely like to do a 6.0 swap some day, but I'm kinda going in stages. I'd like to feel the difference between the shorties and lt's for myself...kinda my own R&D I'd also like to bolt on a Magnaflow cat back and see if there's any difference to be had between that and the one I have. Unfortunately I don't have unlimited funds
