Default lifter fallout during cam swap?

Anyone have any problems as far as the lifters dropping out while pulling the cam out? I know some people use the lifter tool's but I was curious if anyone at all has had a lifter fall out when the cam was out. Or are they fairly secure in the retaining cups or not so much?

just go to your lumber yard and get the dowl rods. its not worth the risk of having one fall out

Dowels did not work for me, but found the magnets for $1 a piece.
