Default Lets talk 4wd and bounce ideas around!

So, I just wanted to start this thread to bounce ideas around about the 4wd's on here cause I don't see much about them. it can be for anything from opinions on setups to what you have or aspire to build.

personally, I just got rid of my 2007 classic regency rst. it had longtubes, cai, 3600 circle d, and street tune by john weeks of xxx motorsports in Pensacola, fl. yes I miss my baby but I replaced it with a 2004 Silverado ecsb z71 w/ approx. 140k miles for $3500. there are some minor flaws, although is completely sound.

my plan for this thing is to do long tubes and exhaust, cai, undecided for a stall, beef up the tranny a bit (we all know they are notorious for going out), and maybe a trutrac in the rear. oh yea, I forgot to mention, it has 3.73s front and rear

im only doing bolt ons on the 5.3 because I want to find a 6.0 to slowly start building on the side and prepping for when that 5.3 gives out. I would like to do a mild cam, and a procharger at some point.

as far as the flaws go, it has manual windows and power seats which is odd. im assuming someone put power seats in it. I would like to make the switch to power windows. also has the jump seat which I would like to get rid of, and speaking of, is that possible to fit with the dog leg in the floor?
does need a paint job, clear coat is going (not a big concern for me). and id like to throw a small cb system in it, as well as a very unique stereo system.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE AND MAY OR MAY NOT WANT TO DO, OR OPINIONS ON MY PLANS. I LOVE SOME RACING AND SOME SPEED, BUT I LOVE ME SOME 4WD ACTION TOO.

Also, I am in no way a master mechanic lol so don't shoot me down if I say anything incorrect. I also have not yet had a chance to see my truck since I purchased in January, due to being stationed overseas in Okinawa since august of 2012. COMING HOME IN ABOUT A MONTH!

Save your money on modding the 5.3 and put it towards the 6.0..put it towards your paint, trans, and any of the other stuff it may need

Who says 4wd and racing are different things? Some of the fastests trucks on here are 4wd.

I was saying bolt ons because most of them should be swappable, correct?

The LT headers will work with the 6.0..unsure about a CAI..also i think you will be happier with some 4.10 gears..especially in a cammed 4wd..they will help get the truck up and moving..what kind of cam you looking at for your 6.0?

2.5 inch true duals from headers back no cat, flow masters single in single out mufflers, dumped after rear end.
