with the wimpy setup you plan

behind a built 6.2. no prob.
One in every crowd.

You're definitely overthinking it. Neither L33 or LQ4 will be overwhelming in a truck with 32" tires and a 3.55 rear unless you're adding a turbo or supercharger. The R/T's 5.9L was rated at 330-345 lb/ft of torque stock, so I'd say that's comparable. But R/Ts also had a 3.92 rear and 30" tires.

I'd probably choose the LQ4 for your setup where weight savings are negligible and it's probably the cheaper of the two. The low end torque from the larger displacement is also welcome given your final drive ratio.

ya. I've pretty much decided on the lq4. Its easier to find a build recipe that works. Vs the rarity of the l33 and possible guess work. And either way the trans will get the transgo treatment so I should be good to go.

Thanks again for all the help guys.

If youre worried about torque go with a larger cam

"I'm worried I make too much torque" - said no stock cube LS swap EVER.

Make ALL the power you can and worry about traction later... you always have your right foot for that.

torque does no good if you have to play with the throttle to keep from spinning. Congrats, that means you wasted your money. In not looking for an all out build. But thanks for your .02 any ways?

Hands down for your setup the LQ4. The weight of your vehicle and the tires you will still want more torque than even the LQ4.

sounds good to me. I've never done any kind of built before so all this will be a first for me.

The kind of sad thing is, once all this gets done, ill have around double the horse power and double the torque them I have now, and still get a lot better fuel mileage. Thats having my cake and gorging myself on it too. Lol. Mopar didn't put a lot of effort in their magnum engines...
