Arrow L-Trims and rear O2's

2 questions.

1. What should the L-trims be running at certain RPM's? Mine are around 9-10% at 2400 rpm's. Seems real lean. Anyone got a good base to shoot for? I'm still haveing no luck with edit. so I am trying to Predator it fro the SBSO.

2. What would be the long term effects of running with out cats on the rear O2's, (say 500 miles). I want to put the cutout spools back in (where the cats are) for the SBSO, but w/o edit, I will throw codes on the rear O2's Nobody has the right simms for the trucks local, so that's not an option.

I'm guessing that the rear 02 sensors are narrow band type sensors? As long as your not running any leaded gas or not a lot of additives like toulene or octane booster, they'll be just fine. I ran over 5000 miles with no catalytics on a turbocharged car. I know of many that run much longer then that with no cat's.

1. What are your WOT Ltrims at? If they're 0 then there really is no need to mess with them. If they lock at something other than 0 at WOT then start adjusting. The Ltrims can be positive at WOT if they are high enough during cruising conditions. If that happens they'll be adding fuel and more than likely you'll be too rich. Check'em out.

2. No problem at all to run without cats as long as you don't mind that little light in the dash.

I don't remember but, did Jason try his shop edit out(his software and cable)? What a freaking headache.

Rear o2's are used only for emssions testing. The front ones are the ones you need to worry about. You might throw some rear o2 codes about not switching fast enough or wrong readings or something. You can clear the code with ATAP or EFILive .. I'll have my laptop that I know works on my truck and a couple others if you want your light turned off.

Thanks guys. I'm not worried about codes. The Predajunk can clear those. Just thought I may run open cutouts, since I will be slow, at least I will be heard! LOL!!!
As for Edit, I've been talking to Ken. And Yes John, we did try Jayson's cables. We even loaded the program on his laptop and still no dice! His shop edit is only for cars.

The rear 02's: not only are they used to determince catalytic efficiency, they also have a say so in ltrims. At a certain mph and meeting certain criteria, the pcm will look at the rear 02's for ltrim adjustments. They play such a small part in ltrim values that it doesn't hurt if you delete them with edit though.

see ya at the track,

allen

Thank for the replies guys. I went ahead and put the cutouts back in the old location. After the rear O2's. Gotta machine the QTP's a bit to get them to mount. Damn, all this horsepower on the floor is getting used! LOL!!!! Inside joke LOL!!! But yes, the blower is still on the self until we solve the Edit prob.

Man .. you had me scared as I was picking ceramic (isn't that what's in those damn things) bugers. I've had mine turned off since I did the cam swap and put the blower on, but haven't turned off COT yet. I can tell by looking at them that I am running a little rich.
