OK i had a thought while some one on here was asking about placement ideas to make a custom kit. now has anyone thought about putting the turbo in the "stock" location....ok ok before anyone goes
there is a silverado/sierra that comes stock with a turbo....the Dmax, in which case if some on made just the exahust kit to the turbo location you could actually use OEM desiel parts for the most of the tubing up to the intercooler ( especiually if you used the dmax IC ) and the tubing from that to the intake ( or mostly...im not sure what the intake looks like on the dmax ).
Or am I just beeing a idiot?

i haven't looked at a dmax closely but it seems like the turbo is right on top, near the back of the motor. the dmax must have a diferent style intake or something because i dont think it would fit there on a gen 3 motor. still worth a look though.

The dmax turbo does sit right on top of the intake. It wouldnt fit with out LS manifolds. Its not a bad idea, but not feasable in the dmax location. You could still use the downpipe and a few other parts from that kit though. Just a little cutting and welding.
I just wonder what ever happened to the company that had the twin turbo kits for our trucks last year. They used adapters to flip the stock manifolds and mount the turbos. The finnished kit looked sweet.

If so, holy moly, I've got something to do.

Here's a pic of a kit that Kurt from Wheel to Wheel had put together. As you can see there just isn't room on top of the stock intake manifold for that turbo to go up there.
I know the pic is big but, I don't feel like resizing it.
