Just replaced my Hamm header gaskets

I know some of you are planning to buy the Hamm's pretty soon, just a word of warning don't use the gaskets they supply. They don't create a very good seal! I followed the torque reccomendations that Hamm tells you, retighten after warmup, retighten after 500 miles blah blah, still didn't help I put the stock gaskets back in, so far so good

I have heard from day one not to use their gaskets. Most people I know go back with the stock or Felpro's. I plan on useing the stock gaskets for the ASM's I ordered, unless they come with a better one.

I used their gaskets for a while too. I noticed the same thing, above every port, there was a little bit of black from the leaking. I removed those and added back my factory metal gaskets and have had no problems since.

ASM's came with the OEM multi-layer metal gaskets. I have yet to see ones that seal better. When I installed headers on the 95' Impala, I also purchased new OEM gaskets...They just don't leak.
