Just got a new truck, what mods to do first?
#1
Truck is a 2002 GMC 1500 X-Cab Z71, 5.3l, etc...
How much does the FIPK help?
What are the best header/exhaust combo for these trucks?
Pulleys?
These are going to be my first three mods, help me pick, or change my mind, let the modding begin.....

I have a 2002exc5.3 the best mod,and the only mod I have done is an Airinduction system by UltimatePD.I have bought differant mods in the past for other trucks, cars but never one that made such an improvement as this one did. There are so many mods out there that are not worth the money for the power gains;like exhaust, they are expensive with hardly any power gains. They say that the stock exhaust flows as good as most systems out, unless it's for sound,or looks I would save my money for real power gains like the UltimatePD Airinduction system, then a hypertec programer this will be my next mod when I decide to bye.For more info on the airindution system you can reach them at www.UltimatePD.com Good luck with your truck!Just my thoughts on the matter The WidowMaker02

pulleys are another real good mod, they give anywhere from 10 to 14rwhp on the dyno.
headers, you can choose from arizone speed and marine, hamm headers, or there is one more new company whose name i cant remember, but hear they are good too. all add around 20rwhp/20rwtq. they are long tubes though so u will need to modify your y-pipe but well worth it

dean lapole possibly? there has been alot of discussion on them over at fullsizechevy forums
they are the only legal ones for 02's at the moment that are Long tubes. hamm and AS&M dont have some certification for 02's. for the 02's though the EGR and air will need to be blocked off since they arent on the 02's. lapoles are made for 99-02 so they have the ports.
i have no first hand experience with these headers, this is just a summary of what i have gathered from posts on fsc.
