Just Do It. Help Me Pull The Trigger
#1
I hope this got everyone's attention. This is driving me crazy and its time to just pull the trigger on this and get this build done. I'm so indecisive its literally stupid. Help me decide on a cam.
2007 NNBS Silverado RCSB 5.3L V8
Current Mods:
Volant Intake
Corsa Sport
Dynatech LT's w/ High Flow Cats
Black Bear Tune
Eaton True Trac
AAM 4.10s
LS7 Lifters
DOD Delete
Cal-Tracs
Circle D 278mm 3200 Stall
Ordering Tomorrow:
PRC STG 2.5 LS6 Heads, Push Rods etc etc
I decided specifically on my stall and am going to choose a cam to suite. I do not need every last hp out of this setup, this is not a track truck. It is a weekend toy. I cannot decide for the life of me between a
TSP220 and TSP224. LSA somewhere between 110-112.
Is the 224 too big for the 278mm 3200? I know the 220 is about as perfect as it gets for that stall. I want a proven cam, i do not want to go the custom grind route so please dont suggest it. I have heard mixed opinions on the cam/stall combo of the 224 and am hoping to put my mind at ease. I want something that pulls all over and not just up top and i want drive ability to remain good. Am pulling the trigger tomorrow regardless. Right now im leaning the TSP220 route with a 110 or 111 LSA. Thanks for any opinions, im a newb and dont have much first hand experience to go off of other than your guys opinions.
I am also having the ls6's decked to bump the compression a bit. I dont know how that works into the cam equation.

If you are dead set on a off the shelf cam then the tsp220 is a good performer. Later on if you want more out of it or want to go a different route then maybe you can pick a custom cam at that point. I'd probably go for the 112lsa for the tsp220 off the shelf, if it was a custom cam and you didn't mind to wait a little more time I would probably have some advance ground in the cam IMO.
