Is the vehicle completely stock?

And when you say performance, how much performance?

Is this a daily driver that you'd like a little more action out of, and will you be making occasional trips to the track?

You're in California. Have you considered emissions laws?

By asking for performance, you're opening yourself to a gambit of choices. What is your choice for the end result, and most importantly, what's your budget?

If you're willing, just go for an LS swap. There is much more potential in an LS swap than what you're working with now. Performance and gas mileage don't usually belong together in the same sentence, unless you're reading a K&N box. Get faster, and you'll put your foot down more. Not to mention, there is a fine line between getting better gas mileage and catering to a good bit more power. Anyways, back to swapping the LS... TBI is an all-around bad platform, period. People will argue that, but that's just how it goes in my book. You can throw a carb on it, spray it, etc., but don't forget emissions if you're dealing with those things. I'm sure you know the basics, so you can probably do the swap yourself, if that's what you want. It all really boils down to what you're dead set on getting out of the truck and what you bought it for.

Its a 350 vortec motor good motor just the injection system is the hold back limited to 19 pounds injectors.Ive got a open intake and headers on my vortec 350 pulls hard and gets damn good mpg's.I say headers,intake,tune,1.6rrs,you can install ls beehive springs to accept a good cam that would really pull hard.Im planning on stroking mine.
