Doing cam on my vmax. All highway driving no racing dont care what the dyno says or gains at 6K RPM. For average everyday driving and reliability under the conditions I'm using it are shorties worth it or just keep the stock manifolds. Going with a TSP 220/224. Getting TD's wo cats done now magnaflow dual in out muffler...

This is just my experience.
Keep the stock manifolds and get a cam spec'd for low end power/torque with the stock manifolds (heavy exhaust bias).
I've never noticed any gains from headers below 3000 rpms.

I'm with GMCtrk on this one but i was just thinking that longtubes would only help right? i haven't really heard of anybody losing bottom end because of them and it would help topend for when you did want to let it spin up higher. please correct me if i'm wrong but i would think that if you were willing to spend the money on headers anyway longtubes couldn't hurt.

I know the LT's are the way to go but right now 1200.00 is a bit out of reach. In the future I may do it. The cam, full exhaust, dynotune and all the ancillary parts stuck it to my wallet.
