HOLY CRAP! ding ding ding...we have a winner! that's exactly what I forgot to do ...a huge THANK YOU! wow..I feel like a total dumb a$$..

I had all of the parts in a box but I was afraid of bending those so I put them in a safe place...I never was so relieved when someone made me aware of being dumb

Remember, if you have parts left over after you put it back together you forgot something

Don't worry. I forgot to install it once too, but luckily I noticed after tightening the first rocker. You need to look VERY closely for bent pushrods and broken valve springs since you likely also over compressed the springs. I hope there wasn't any piston-to-valve contact, and hopefully the lifters are okay.

take them out and roll them on a flat surface, any bent ones will be pretty obvious

a piece of glass works great for a flat surface. i doubt he bent any pushrods or had PTV problems with a stock cam. it should fire up and purr like a kitten with the rocer stands.
